Full course description

STAR statements during an interview are something employers always seem to look for, without ever telling the interviewee. Being prepared to answer behavioral interview questions with the STAR method is a great way to overcome this obstacle. This workshop provides an understanding of how to craft STAR statements for interviews as well as resumes. First, this workshop defines the STAR Method before going into each step separately. It provides the definition and examples for situation, task, action, and result (STAR) for both interview answers and resume statements. This workshop also dives into what behavioral interview questions are and why it is helpful to structure answers with the STAR Method. Participants will engage in exercises practicing crafting statements for situation, task, action, and result for both resumes and interviews. By the end of this workshop, participants will know how to craft a STAR structured answer for a behavioral interview question as well as how to describe responsibilities on a resume.
