Full course description

Proper online etiquette is becoming more and more of a concern since employers are using social media platforms to evaluate a job candidate’s fit for an open position. Having a positive and professional social media presence is just one way youth can combat fallout from employer screening of social media profiles. Building directly from Personal Brand Part 1, Personal Brand Part 2 focuses on how participants can leverage their personal brand in both a personal and professional setting as well as what steps participants can take in order to improve their digital footprint. Participants will engage in various exercises to understand how one’s personal brand influences their daily life as well as their professional image. Participants will participate in activities that help them evaluate their current digital image and determine what changes should be made in order to support a professional personal brand. This workshop also highlights the definition of digital footprint, why it is important to be aware of the impact one’s internet history can have, and how to improve one’s digital footprint. By the end of this workshop, participants will be able to determine what steps they need to take to refine their personal brand on social media to best reflect themselves in a positive, professional manner.
