Full course description
“Change is the only constant in life” but learning how to embrace change can be a challenge. Change inherently causes conflictual feelings and not everyone responds to change positively. However, learning how to respond positively to change improves one’s overall performance in the workplace. This workshop outlines the inevitability of change and why change is so difficult to accept. It identifies the Five Principles of Change as well as the Transition Process. Participants will engage in exercises to help them identify how they currently respond to change and challenge them to adapt a more embracing mindset. This workshop highlights specific ways in which change is normally delt with, identifies helpful thought patterns, and examines healthy coping techniques. Participants will brainstorm what coping techniques they want to try and a create a plan of action to implement those techniques.
Target Audience: In-School Youth, Out-of-School Youth
Essential Question: By completion of this workshop, participants should be able to answer the question:
· How do I react to change, and what can I do to manage it more productively and successfully?
